The nicest wood shed you will ever see. This is what happens when every single detail of your property matters….this building was actually the original Springbank schoolhouse from some time in the late 1800s. 2 students and a teacher used to meet in this tiny building and there was no way we could just destroy that piece of history.

We repurposed a very old railway car sliding door, track, and some old wooden fir beams to make this beautiful detail at the @rafter.one barns. There is never a single piece of this project that is overlooked. We take what most would throw away and repurpose them for something that you’ve never seen.

A beautiful shop/ garage built right in Olds, AB. This will eventually have a car lift and be used as both a garage and work shop. A very unique colour combination with a lot of really cool small details that set this one apart. We are so blessed to work with clients that trust us to make these dreams a reality.
A quick deck, wheel chair ramp, and sidewalk poured at a home near Carstairs, AB.
Most of the metal is complete on the @ufacooperative express store. We are waiting for engineering to be complete for the screw piles for the front canopy and entry way.
Another big commercial project is well underway. This is a new @ufacooperative Express store we are building in Two Hills, AB.
After spending a good portion of the summer working on this historic ranch we finally are at the lockup phase. We have completed the exterior on the main 2 barns; the concrete is complete inside and outside including most of the sidewalks and patios; a good portion of the exterior electrical is complete; and we have started on portions of the interiors. The legacy of Rafter 1 is coming back to its former glory.
There are so many incredible details about this project that we could talk about for hours. A late 1800s rail car tying the two barns together: a stamped concrete floor in the horse barn with the most intricate, hand placed horseshoe trails: a hand painted Rafter 1 Herefords sign; reclaimed horse stalls for doors: custom built steel hanging pergola: custom steel brands: even an original Springbank school house repurposed for a wood shed. This is truly a one of a kind project and we are honoured to be working hand in hand with the owner to make this dream a reality.

We added another 40’ of lean to on the east end of the barn which will serve as future kitchen and bathrooms. It provides a really unique look to this barn as well. We are waiting on our doors to arrive before more siding can be finished.

Footings are finished and ready for the foundation walls next week. We have added new treated lumber to all the bottom of the walls while it is up in the air and pulled everything back to square so that when we set it back down it will be perfect.

Finished up a huge overhaul of this farm house last month. As this house had been built and added on over the years there was a lot of tie ins that that never been completed: siding, trims, flashings etc. We changed all of the smart trim on the entire home, new soffit and fascia on the entire home, new roof trims, staining, some painting; we completely refurbished the pergola, cement patio, rock work around the home, new railings and stairs, a small breakfast deck on the back of the house; then we added new pot lights, WATT lights (permanent Christmas lights), automotive painted all of the doors; we even sandblasted and stained the large logs in front of the home; we completely brought this house back to life. We are so grateful to clients who completely trust us to take on projects like this: When you look around and everything seems unfinished sometimes it seems overwhelming as a homeowner but it’s amazing what a transformation this took and we are thankful for the team we have to make it happen.

This house looks just as good at night thanks to some incredible outdoor lights and @watts.lights deck lighting.
Just when you thought the deck couldn’t get any crazier we are custom building a Japanese Oak live edge coffee counter for the outdoor deck finished in @osmocanada UV protecting outdoor oil.
One of the most incredible decks we have ever completed to top out a beautiful house renovation. This started with a 2 car oversized garage addition, new heavy gauge metal roof, new board and batten metal siding, and a huge timber frame deck with composite decking and fir and aluminum railings.

We renovated the sunroom, added rock features (with lots more rock to come), changed all of the siding to CanExel wood grain, partially shingled the roof, added new windows and doors and will finish it out with a new composite front deck.
An absolutely beautiful 4 season sunroom addition complete. This started as an outdoor dog run, and is now one of the most useful rooms in the house. We lifted the roof completely, changed all the joists to structural LVLs, added a concrete floor with in floor heat, spray foam walls, wood grain tile floors, new triple pane windows, and a gas fireplace with rock wall feature.
